Pellissippi State had its 7th annual Festival of Cultures last Friday, an event that offered free music, food, and fun to the community. Performers of all kinds were featured, from tap dancers to stilt walkers, and there were also lots of children’s activities, exhibits, and international foods for everyone to check out.

This past Saturday was Ijams’ 25th Annual River Rescue, where Pellissippi State students and community partners participated in some service-learning to clean up Loves Creek. After some cooperation and hard work, they got that mattress of the top of the mountain, and cleaned up a massive amount of trash!

Tuesday was media day at the Strawberry Plains campus, where TBR was given a tour of the upcoming Career Magnet Academy.

The Career Magnet Academy at Pellissippi State will open in fall 2014, and will continue to grow to a four-year high school.
